Mana

Or how to manipulate mystical energies:
Mana is the name used to identify any kind of mystic energy that an arcane character can manipulate. Mana Points are calculated as follows=IN+CH+MS mods plus 2 per level. Mana can be used in different effects at the same time but the points of Mana must be distributed between the effects. Mana activated in effects can be:
Expended -Mana that is used at the moment of casting and the character needs to renew later.
Sustained – a sustained effect is “used” at the moment of casting and the duration of the effect will be as long as the mana is allocated in that effect. The caster can choose to reallocate the sustained mana in another effect at his own turn.
A character that is sustaining mana must concentrate on the effect or lose it. Sustained effects will stop working the moment the character is unconscious or death. Mana sustained in an individual or object stays there until the arcane decides to use it somewhere else or the target is destroyed (or killed) at which time the mana returns to his caster.

Renew expended Mana:
Each point of Mana used to attack or cure will be expended and must be renewed. The points are renewed at the rate of 1 point per minute of rest. As a different approach, the character can choose to substitute Mana Points expended for Hit Points. Hit Point could them be later recovered at the normal healing rate.
